Went to Riva’s Eco Store yesterday and ITAP of a sad pillow. Please don’t cry.

Some incredible images from the recent anti-tuition-hike protests in the UK

Good to see the English aren’t yet beyond actually doing shit about something!

Some interesting thoughts I came across which I’ve decided to ‘typophotofy’ (shamelessly copying my bud Jordan and his friends’ brilliant concept, of course) with a snapshot of my own.
And yes, Simon Baron-Cohen is related to Ali G / Borat.

A photography slideshow I made for my ART335 class aimed at throwing the inherent “truth” and “reality-capturing” nature of photography into question.

So turns out my Photography I class involves a lot more ‘field work’ than I thought—we’re expected to expose, develop and print our own shots throughout the semester. This is unbelievably awesome.
To make matters skyrocketingly better, I recently discovered my dad had been hiding away his *mint* condition Canon AE-1 35mm SLR! It was a popular/value-priced camera back in its heyday (the 80s), and apparently he used it quite a bit; he even has two nifty spare lenses (28mm 2.8, 70-220mm 4; standard is a 50mm 1.8) and a flash kit!
The short of it is that I’m fucking excited to start using it. Well, I have already actually—my prof gave me 4 free reels of misc 35mm film to try out, so I’ve been snapping shots here and there trying to get a feel for the ridiculously complicated exposure/shutter-speed/focus systems that today’s point-and-shoots have made working with all-too-much of a breeze.
Expect to see some occasional prints posted here in the weeks/months to come!
