Figure 1: The tentative plan for tomorrow’s 50 km bike marathon.
Gonna do a clockwise loop of the reservoir with my sis, then head over to her place to catch up with my long lost cat, then way back to CSIF for a Damming Fluxus programming meeting, then joining up with MoJams to bike home/ towards the Chinook theatres for our free advance screening at 7pm.
After paintball last weekend and this, I’m convinced my legs will soon look like this or this (and nothing else).

The Suburbs by Mr. Little Jeans (Arcade Fire cover)

Ohhhhh shiiiiit. Such a great tune. Here’s where I stole it from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU6xotoDR6w

More importantly, check out that video. It’s the trailer for Calgary filmmaking sensation Kurt Harder’s debut feature (he’s editing it literally right now, I bet).

Tonight, a special treat: BriTANick.

Basically these two guys are awesome, and they make even more awesome short films about hilarious shit. But it’s not just your average YouTube stew, the production values on these on astounding, and the writing/acting/theatricality of it all are equally inspiring. This is how you make a web series—pardon my film student bias.

http://www.britanick.com/ is the site, clicking that link is what to do.

(Thanks to Chris for pointing me to them a few weeks ago, as well as watching every single one with me while shit rendered.)

What the hell, here’s a shortlist of especially awesome ones:

25 Greatest Unscripted Scenes in Films

Traveling the world and shooting 1 second of footage in each location

Holy shit this is a cool video. My travelling (not to mention movie editing) jealousy meter just broke its glass.

kostacalfas:

The “Annie Hall Moment” familiar to anyone who’s been in a University too long!

Easily the most memorable part of that movie.
