As for the case of the Denver International Airport, I don’t even know what to say! The swastika-shaped runways might be pushing it, but the murals are absolutely real. And those alone are cause enough for some sort of offbeat curiosity. This clearly isn’t just a case of an ‘artist gone mad’, or of a severe misalignment of theme and location—the airport administration would quickly take these down if that were the case. And that horse is just fucking whack. No need to interpret symbolism; it’s just fucking whack.
The weirdest thing is I’ve been to this airport! (Apparently, I never had to travel through the Grand Hall, though.) Let it be said that should I be passing by Denver anytime soon, I’ll definitely be taking the DIA tour!
