Mouthful of Cavities [Edit] by Blind Melon
So you’ve probably heard of Blind Melon via their quasi-one-hit-wonder stoner-song No Rain, and I’ve gotta say, I did too. Actually, I even once said to a friend it’s their only good song, but, alas, a quick peak at my last.fm will be reveal that I actually listen to them quite a bit, especially lately.
I would compare them in most every way to Modest Mouse: strange, peculiar-sounding yet impressive vocals and lyrics; eclectic, sometimes-offbeat yet addictive instrumentals; and a steep ‘learning curve’ in getting to like their music.
It only helps that they’re followed by Blink 182 on my iTunes—the resulting combo almost always lures me in for a couple hours.
