The Spoils of Winter
- Socrates: Murray, I feel like I haven't visited your blog for centuries!
- Me: Wait... you know what a blog is? You didn't even have typewriters back in early Greece.
- Socrates: Knowing what exists and what doesn't is a matter of individual perception, dear friend.
- Me: You think?
- Socrates: While computers might not have been invented until ages after my demise, the fact that they were created by humans means that I--being as much a human as you or Gutenberg or Jobs--must possess the capacity to understand them.
- Me: So you think the human mind is the 'always already' bearer of all truth, even if such truth or information has yet to be discovered, or even conceivably imagined?
- Socrates: Indeed, it must be so.
- Me: Well, that's a lot to handle, but I do like your method--
- Socrates: ...and I like your tumblr's new colour scheme.
- Me: Thanks, Socrates, I do too. I felt it was more in tune with the winter mood -- that which has now undeniably been snowed upon us.
- Socrates: Hopefully you'll be able to get out and play some hockey soon. The rink by your house is pretty much ready to go!
- Me: How could you possibly know that? It's almost as if you're in my head or something.
- Socrates: See you around.
