So if you lived your childhood in the same years as I did, you may or may not have had the privilege of watching awesome 90’s kids shows, of which there are too many to name (and remember). That said, a friend recently mentioned “Shining Time Station” to me – I totally forget why – but it struck something in me that I couldn’t quite describe. I asked him what that was and he explained that it was an old kids TV show from the YTV days. Remembering slightly, I asked if it was the one with the main set inside a train station, and one lady’s face in particular came to mind, though I couldn’t really describe it or who her character was. I just have this really long lasting memory of the main set, for some reason. So we youtubed it and found the intro theme, which brought me so much joy I can’t really explain it. Watch it above.

Turns out that Ringo Starr had a spot on the show, as did George Carlin! I can’t believe that someone who’s s big a fan of Carlin’s as I am didn’t know he was in this mega-awesome TV show! He plays Mr. Conductor, and I found a whole episode that features him prominently. It’s not very good, haha, but it’s kinda funny to see him acting in a show geared towards an audience that wouldn’t exactly appreciate his swear-word-saturated standup. Damn I wish that guy was still around :(
